Actually, a Hashemite restoration would likely lead to a constitutional monarchy, which is the next best thing to democracy.

I have few illusions about the ability of Arab culture to properly implement democracy and a respect for human rights and property in a short span of time. It will require a gradual process, which a constitutional monarchy would well serve.

What are you for, Hashemite restoration or democracy?

I don't want to install anything. I just want to eliminate, as much as possible, the terrorists in the area. We are going to have to do that, sooner or later. If we wait until "later," or "never," as you obviously want us to, I think there will be a lot more dead Americans to avenge. But, that is the guessing game we are all playing.

Tactically, along the way, we are playing "War Games" here with the options that are available, and how they may play out. A "Hashemite restoration" is one option that could happen.
