The dumbest money in the market has got to be the retail mutual funds. My father told me just the other day that he saw an interview of his Janus fund manager. I didn't see the article, but my dad said that when he was asked about checking companies balance sheets and income statements that he said Oh I don't really look at those. I don't understand them anyways. Unbelieveable isn't it? Well if the fund manager wasn't looking at the financial statements then you have to assume that he was/is either a momo player or even more likely buys and sells solely on emotions--and getting his clients toasted in the process.
