I don't recall the President saying a single solitary quotable word about "attack" or invading or "preemptive invasion"....Has he??? If so, could you cite the links, please?

Rather, I believe it is a media event.

why attacking and invading any sovereign countries from his "axis of evil" is in the strategic interest of the US. Or even that preemptive invasion is the best foreign policy?

That is what we are discussing here, jcky. I know you, of all people, are not waiting for "43" to tell you to "lock step" into whatever he proposes.

The reason I have been "out of sorts" with everyone today is that I keep seeing posts opposing us doing anything without giving an answer to what they think we should do. On top of opposing action, some of the posts keep making open or veiled references that suggest the actions the Administration are contemplating are not only wrong, but being proposed for "Evil" reasons, for instance, Stockman Scott's post had this line.

many of them are in bed with the military-industrial complex <VBG>....Follow the money and the ties to organizations like the very secretive Carlyle Group.

In other words, we are fighting terrorism to make money for "Daddy Warbucks." This kind of reasoning gets old after a while.

On the other hand, Win finally stated what he would like to see us do, "Containment," and Hawkmoon made a good post in response to it. John laid out the "Undecided" position as he sees it,

Invasion pushes us closer to clash of civilizations; not doing anything may endanger us to terrorist threats.

Which I think is an excellent summary of that position. He chides me for being a "Hawk" in Waikiki, when he is looking out his back door at a potential Mushroom cloud over NYC. I agree that I would not want to be living near NYC or DC the next few years. I think a "proactive" position is the only way to go, John hasn't decided.

I just think if you post a lot of news pieces and columns here that you owe it to the rest of us to tell us what you think we should do, not just hide behind the newspaper columns. We are all "spitballing", and nobody gives a damn what we think, but it makes for a better community if you take a turn at bat, IMO.
