To: Peach who wrote (2666 ) 7/31/2002 4:54:38 PM From: marcos Read Replies (2) | Respond to No no - 'you that are still in ' - not still but again ... true there has never for many years been a period in which i did not hold some golds, but from mid-'97 on it was very few, almost all house-money positions that i'd declared keepers, from before .... plus the usual wallpaper collection of course, play this game long enough and you'll acquire quite a variety of that ... but in '99 when you and Mr B and TLC were flipping camp.naz, i was flipping camp.naz, and a fine ride it gave too .... it was in the month of Taxloss '00, a/k/a first weeks of Dec'00, that i started edging back into metals, putting new money in, got lucky with Anatolia ymc.u.v around this time which encouraged the spirits, then got looking harder at the survivability of various plays ... around this time russwinter came along and enlivened the old G&SMS thread, that was before he started Precious and Base ... that was an influence, from spring '01 on most new money [or old money coming back to the market] went to a selection of golds - bay.to at my magic number of 1.31 for the third [3rd-ggg-] time, yeehaw, several others like mfl.to just under and just over one loonie ..... xcl.to of course, i'd been swing trading it and been quite lucky since '98, keeping the profit in sharepaper mostly, not cash ..... suf.to has been great, teevee and russett and i have done well on it, after not doing so well on its slide down the tubes before [big political risk of RSA on that one, at the moment i hold only nominal shares, considering dumping them due to threats of racist policy there]
