>> It isn't I who has perverted an entire thread, ostensibly dedicated to commodities, to promote his beliefs <<

it's my thread. if you don't like the agenda here you are welcome to leave and start your own commodities thread.

>> It isn't I who has attacked anyone with contrary views, driving most of them away from this thread <<

hah! there never were that many people here discussing commodities in the first place. three quarters of the thread was me posting to myself. (which is fine by me) i find it quite interesting that you are so concerned with keeping this thread purely about commodities, when after more than a year and 1400+ posts what have you contributed to the the thread? absolutely nothing except this criticism. maybe if you actually posted here regularly (even just a few times), you would have a point. but it's obvious that you don't like my nationalistic attitudes and you just want to use this as an excuse to lash out at them.

why am i not surprised--from your profile and your user name you appear not to be of american heritage. that could explain why you might not understand the historical origins of this republic, and also could explain why you might not have an interest in preserving the ideals the united states republic was founded on.

doesn't make you a bad person, just makes you someone who has an entirely different perspective or agenda than i. many foreigners benefit from america's free trade policies so it's no wonder they so adamantly resist anything that would hinder free trade. you're entitled to argue what you think is best for yourself or your country and i will not censor your opinion. but i equally have a right to stand up for what i believe is best for my country -- and i make no apologies for that.

we had a canadian on this thread who was quite upset about the lumber tariffs. nobody censored him, he was allowed to freely speak his mind.

we had a brit here who has yet a different perspective on trade.

what is so terrible about hearing differing perspectives on trade issues? i would think you might find it refreshing to hear someone argue the other side of the trade issue, as it is plainly obvious that most people in the media and here at s.i. support the free trade uber alles argument.
