Windsock, Re: "I guess the nVidia business plan to tie its wagon to the AthWiper and the Hamster has produced little but failure."

I have a solution for nVidia:

Pay whatever Intel asks and get yourself a P4 bus license!

nVidia took a huge hit today on its downside earnings miss.
NVDA 3:37pm 11.19 -5.03 -31.01% 36,746,684
I guess the nVidia business plan to tie its wagon to the AthWiper and the Hamster has produced little but failure.

---Not only that, but it seems that VIA is also suffering from the same "Thumb your nose at intel,Stupidity Virus".

Via sales hit in July
Falls by 28% year on year
Via's strength in the chipset business is tied to the success of AMD's Athlon families of microprocessors. Although it has a Pentium 4 range of chipsets, acceptance of those by the marketplace is bedevilled by continuing litigation with Intel, which started around this time last year.
That means, that as far as the chipset business is concerned, if AMD doesn't perform as well as it should, it has a disproportionate effect on Via chipset sales.

---"Brilliant" move by both of these guys to have hitched their wagon to a loser. They forgot one of the golden rules of success: "The race may not ALWAYS go to the fastest or the strongest....... but that's the way to bet".
