What future you ask? Take a few minutes to read the following articles..

last time i checked, MSFT's top 2% of the engineering world didn't innovate anything having to do with anything in those links....

they didn't innovate the palm top......

the didn't innovate any thing having to do with wireless devices....

and they didn't innovate anything to do with the digital home or .net for that matter.......

which things in those links was it that wouldn't exist without MSFT????

yeah, GE is one that comes to mind using open source products to fill their own needs, their customer needs and their customers customers needs. have you seen what GE is doinga in the medical field with database information in California?

if msft said it was going into the manure business you would see the opportunities in it. its open source vs. microsoft. hey, don't you think that dell and att owe msft something for past gifts?
