I haven't been watching much TV for the last few months. Good for you. (I nearly typed GFY, but caught myself.) American Idol is a talent search for a star. They started in the boonies taking all comers and some of those who auditioned were just horrid. And the judges comments were also horrid. So it was amusing. Now they've narrowed it down to seven, six after tonight, and they're all good so it is not as amusing. OTOH, those of us who watched from the beginning are all hooked. There are, IMO, three of the contestants with real star quality. Hopefully, one of them will win. I say "hopefully" because the winner is chosen by popular vote and who knows.
