Papaya: <electricity from NG plants is still the future in North America, converting away from oil and coal>NG plants have an edge in costs which drives a more favorable spark spread, but is it enough to overcome the fixed costs of a new build...when the cost of capital is high...like now? One of the things I got wrong in the recent energy 'bubble' was the 'shortage' of generating capacity and how quickly it would transition to shortage of shortage, ie a glut of sorts.
