The dock strike effect is well-known just as inventory restocking accounted for a large part of the 5plus% in Q1 -- it is one of the reasons why the market shrugged off the number. The 1.7% figure was from the Chicago Pit analyst on CNBC. I have no idea of his source or its accuracy, but within a range of 1% to 2% sounds reasonable. Yes the economy is slowing from the q1 surge but it is chugging along at a moderate rate of growth -- everything points to that conclusion. No it is not stalling out -- yet. If fresh data suggests it is stalling out the market will tank. The place where growth is not on the mend is technology -- avoid technology.
