$30k isn't really a midlife crisis car anymore. The average new car is about $23k.

7 or 8 years ago my first new car (a Ford Contour with a 170HP 6) was so much better then the used econoboxes I had been driving. I suppose I'm looking for a similar jump...

Of course the problem is in 7 or 8 years when I figure I need a Ferrari to continue this trend.. <g>

If anyone's interested here is a couple of links to info about the new Z

It is coming out in August, but I figured I would have to wait until late fall to avoid overpaying. If I have to wait until next year to make a decent deal on one there are a few other cars coming out which I might consider, including the Mazda RX-8, and the Subaru Impreza WRX Sti. One thing they all have in common is 250+ HP. :)

Or I could save a little bit of money and get a Mustang GT, or an Acura RSX Type-S, both of which I have already test driven and both of which can be bought for under $25k instead of the 25 to 35 range of the other three cars.
