Hi DJ and Snowshoe, <<>>The USA "too big to fail" status still gives us a lot of leeway.<<

<<... great fall from greater heights ... The fabled softlanding is just that, soft for now, ... until the moment of sharp and slightly stinging impact.

The Japanese central bank, its government and the people ruled by the government had almost all the liquid money in the world and that was precisely the problem.

...

The Japanese certainly wants to save the Japanese economy from the outside world, and yet, even with their astronomical savings, they have yet to succeed ...
Who would want to save the US economy from its slide downward. Maybe all would, but who could?

As to what the richest US capitalists are doing, I think that will be answered in coming Congressional hearings ... The liquid assets of the richest are definitely floating away from the shores of California and New York, even if shore parties are constantly sent from the mother ship to do some pillaging along side the barbarians.

... Money has no conscience most of the time and no nationality all the time>>

Chugs, Jay

My gauge of the bottom closing in was this:

We would need to see companies that are monopolist capitalist as for example: Telcos Baby Bells and oil companies.

Once thos companies start to bringing out the bad news, then the bottom is on sight. Yes it is on sight now:
Why? Just look to today's news about Shell and Verizon.

Bottom will be hit between last week of September second week of October.

This doesn't mean it is way up from there on. It just mean that the bottom has been hit.
