It amazes me how hung up you are about my first grade experiences. When I mentioned that we learned about the Declaration of Independence in first grade, it seemed to set off a torrent in your brain. This was your opportunity to call into question my veracity, much as you did with JLA in November, by pretending that I claimed a full understanding and a comprehensive analysis of the constitutional implications of the document by the first grade. Indeed, you would not be deterred from this foolishness even after others had chimed in with their own early elementary school experiences and curriculum.

Fact is, it is common practice to teach kids in K-2 about the founding of this country and even read passages from the DOI, Bill of Rights and Gettysburg Address. If you don't know this and you are a teacher, then you are a bad one.
