JF, is the accelerated depreciation already effective? Was it retroactive? In the current environment, a cap ex tax credit would be labeled "corporate welfare", and would have as much chance of passing as Bernie Ebbers has of being awarded businessman of the year. You got that one right! <g> I hope congress does reform accounting requirements. It seems to me that if every line item over ~$5M in a balance sheet or income statement had to be broken down, Wall Street would have never let this mess happen. How much compliance cost would that add to a company like AMD or Intel? Petz
