Not your equity or other asset losses. But if your brokerage firm or mutual fund is in trouble, yes, I hope the government finds a way to keep depositors whole (even if that means a federal bail out). I bet a bank or brokerage firm's, really big accounts are probably from groups like State Employee Retirement Funds.
