Yousef, I have nothing in writing, but Mikey says that unless Intel gives him free CPUs he will introduce hammer based server products. <GGG>
In fact I feel the whole area in up in the air as we all wait for the hammer to arrive.
The x86 bacwards compatibility will get it some sales. Some scarce few will want the Itanic, and many will stay with the Xeon line.
A lot depends on the performance of the hammer line. We have been teased with some samples, that run slow, but remember the Athlon samples ran slow too...they were stalking horses for Intel to feel not threatened by....big mistake. Now the same thing may happen with the hammer. When it arrives it may be a cat among the sleepy Intel pigeons and make a lunch on them.
