I had death threats also and contacted fbi

Wanna know who was actually making the death threats? Longs in lust and stock promoters. They pretended to be mafia guys to scare me off the boards, said they were gonna break my legs, blah blah blah. They were so stupid that I ended up getting their ip addresses on my own eventually. One guy was doing it from his work and he got fired.

Let me know if you want help getting their IP addresses to give to the FBI. Yahoo should give the IPs to the fbi instantly. Of course they won't do it without FBI orders and the FBI didn't help me that much. I basically had to take care of the situation myself.

The posters won't kill you

If someone was planning on killing you, they'd just do it. They wouldn't post about it. You have more to fear by silent enemies than the silly board posters. Some people just don't realize it's a crime to threaten another. Others don't realize they can be found on the internet.

Far as I know, no one over on the SI Death Threat thread has been offed, so I agree with Mary that most people that make public threats like that are just blowhards. Knock on wood, of course. :)
