... Now what to do with the money, if she ever comes up with it? I think they should give it to the shareholders. Most of it, anyway. The "bashers" should get some for exposing the scam early on. ;)

Good suggestion. If the IRS pays rewards for information, why can't the SEC? Also there's something in it for the touts as well - at long last the mythical paid basher will become a reality. The fact that he/she is paid by the SEC rather than by evil naked Canadian shorts shouldn't make a difference should it?

I wouldn't bet on her showing up with $2.1 M.

Look at her personal BK filing in the next post.

re. Reed getting off unscathed, maybe he didn't?

I notice in the list of creditors, in Reed's 2001 personal BK filing,
which is not yet closed, that the SEC is listed there. That means that Reed owes them money.

I'm not sure how he can owe them money if he was never sued by them,
but the SEC is there on the list:

among the five claims in Reed's BK case, the largest are $613 k owed to the FTC, and $423 k owed to the IRS for arrearage. The others listed are the Bank of America, a BK court, and some kind of franchise tax authority.

The SEC isn't among the five creditors listed in the claims.
