Sorry for jumping all over you, that was not the intent at all. I dont have much time for the boards these days and just sent the missive without seeing how it could be harsh.

Kash, no worries.........my views are similar to yours. My only reason for saying what I said is that AMD was showing surprisingly strong support between $8-9. That seems to have broken now.

I did dump at $9 for a modest loss.

Understandable.

My major concern is the overall economy.

Mine too............I have to post to you the latest survey of IT tech managers that T. Fowler posted on the classic thread.......not good!

All the companies have been hoping for a 2h recovery (seasonality etc) from 1H.

It looks to me we are going to have a tough 12-18 months, especially if housing crumbles.

Yup........I don't see how housing can maintain the course with consumer confidence eroding.

I read somewhere that the housing refinancing and buying was 60% of all the "growth" we have had recently in past 12 months.

I am not sure i would buy amd right now ( but will load up we drop to $5 or so).

Agreed.

Writing puts may be a good strategy right now.

Overall i am in cash right now.

I too am mostly in cash. Check out two defense stocks I hold.........CVU and DCO. Defense remains a stronghold.
