gerard, The rear echelons. Evidently you have never served in the military, or have ever been in a combat zone. Where do you think all the generals, and colonels, stay?? Most of them keep themselves out of harms way. That is where Gore was, with more protective troops around him than the commanding general. You don't know what you are talking about concerning the military. Anyone flying a jet fighter is subject to malfunctions, and crashing. That is far more dangerous than anything Gore ever did, except maybe run for President.
