I prefer the Wilshire 5000 as my coal mine canary -- big samples filter out the effects of sector rotation -- but IMO right now we're still only looking at a potential retest here.

However, if the slide persists for a few weeks and we breach 7396 basis the Wilshire, the next leg down measures out a 30% haircut over the next 10 weeks from the recent high ~8700 to about the 5500-6000 level, depending on when and where you mark off the original starting point in the spring.

That would be about a 50% flush from the highs for the combined legs and I suppose we'd be able to use the C word then if it happens
