Just losing figures written in carbon on ledger paper prepared by accountants. Erasers getting mighty stubby though. All real money ever produced not three feet high covering American football field 50 X 100 yards not lost, just distributed around.

Regards

Bob

P.S. I have a 1990 video of Bill Bonner. Always thought his sidekick Lord Rees-Moog must be one strange contrarian.

Al, "Our nightmare is that continuous bad news about the U.S. economy and an associated continuous fall of the dollar will sooner or later induce a significant part of foreign investors and lenders to pull out of the dollar."

The US is not the only place where Eurolanders have taken a bath. I believe European banks are the biggest lenders to Brazil and, as you may or may not know, Brazil is in serious financial difficulty. In fact, it would not be an exaggeration to say that South America is insolvent.

The upshot is that, if Eurolanders don't invest in US dollars, there's not much else around the place that is worth having. This may, in fact, be the dollar's saving grace.

PS. A word of advice. Don't get too excited about stuff you read at certain web-sites, that being one of them. Whatever you read there, let it go in one ear and out the anus.

Al, a reason why I was contemptuous about that article which drew our attention to the weak USD is that the USD is not weak --- in fact, it's very strong, right now.

On the basis of this chart and the stochastics, we can expect it to become even stronger. Indeed, if we look at a longer-term chart, we can see that the USD is still in a bull trend . (Take your ruler)

Unfortunately, this will impact on the gold price, as it is doing.

So, It would not be unreasonable to expect that gold stocks will remain in the doldrums for some time still.
