U.S. Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld issued a classified memo to the U.S. Special Operations command, ordering it to "capture or kill" the top leadership of al Qaeda, sources told CNN Friday.

Oh. Well. If those guys you cited were part of al Qaeda, then they got their just desserts. And if they weren't, then they weren't killed by US operatives. Simple.

The Saudi royals are a rather larger group. I've read that there are several thousands princes over there.

That was certainly not a call for assasination of the Saudi Royal family. Wild-assed statements like that make you an embarrassment to liberal thought.

I was about to ask if you thought those princes were al Qaeda, but see Laz gave the obvious response:

Oh. Well. If those guys you cited were part of al Qaeda, then they got their just desserts. And if they weren't, then they weren't killed by US operatives. Simple.

The Saudi royals are a rather larger group. I've read that there are several thousands princes over there.

The royal family does number in the thousands! (That'll happen if some of the guys have a bunch of wives and fifty children....) What would be really weird would be if none of them had heart attacks or accidents.

Rumsfeld's new call for assasinations may be the answer.

"Might" be the answer, eh?.... lol... So "might" trans fatty acids or aliens taking over their bodies as part of their evil plot to control the universe.

There are over 2000 princes, I understand, and the ones who recently died are supposed to be among the less prominent.

It is remotely possible, I suppose, that they were actually involved in financing Al Qaeda, and that the CIA or CIA contract killers quietly removed them. If that is the case, all I can say is "well done". Assassinating specific individuals in the Al Qaeda structure makes a lot more sense than invading countries that haven't attacked anybody.
