Now there's some depressing thoughts.

Incense never did it for me. It always made my eyes burn, probably those particulates you're talking about.

When we were in Florence, Italy a year or so ago, I bought a ceramic incense burner which has a small nightlight bulb in it that heats oils. The oils they sell at this place, a very old convent, are pure and smell incredible. I bought rose and sandalwood, now wishing I'd bought jasmine.
