The airline holding company may file for bankruptcy by the end of the year, Business Week reported. UAL spokesman Joe Hopkins declined to comment. Northwest Airlines Corp. (NWAC) fell 87 cents, or 9.6 percent, to $8.15 and traded as low as $7.78. Delta Air Lines Inc. (DAL) fell $1.48, or 9.5 percent, to $14.07 and traded as low as $13.75.
