It seems to fit the actions that we saw him take. He may have seen the bubble beginning to collapse but I'm not convinced he saw the bear until later in the year when he could finally utter the word "bear". Even when the market peaked 2 months after his call, he had the time to assess his position and increase his allocation to cash yet he still had bullish leanings.

So I can see a case being made that Bob made a move to become risk averse in Jan '00 but didn't become bearish until after the drop was clearly in place. Then on the heels of all this, he places the biggest bet of his career on what was probably a charting call. And now he has the nerve to berate charting. Well, I guess he would know the pitfalls as well as anyone.
