I would be flabbergasted by a 3/4 point rate cut, even if it weren't in concert with anybody.


As I understand it, its deflation that is worrying Greenspan and economists. Apparently, interest rates dropping below the fed rate is an undesirable aspect of that scenario.

We are long past that point, even if it ever existed. The 3/4 percent rate cut will not move the 10 and 30-year T-bond or mortgage rates. The long rates may even go higher. Mark this post.
