heron, Some of the previous conversations seemingly had to do with miscommunications that some individuals were having with their brokers. One Poster suggested that everyone should tape their conversations with their broker. The advantage of on-line investing is that you remove the middle person between you and your transaction thus less misunderstandings. I never said that I believed it was an advantage to short-sell via on-line (aside from the miscommunication issue). That was an improper inference on your part.
