Oh, there is no doubt about the intent of pointing out that Buffett and now Getty are buying. This is a way of saying that the smart money is getting in the market.....water is nice, jump in.

The fact is though, that Warren Buffet can afford to have his fortune cut in half....shit, he can afford to have it cut by 95% and it still won't change his lifestyle. You and I can't.

Further, maybe he has found a couple of undervalued gems. He also has researchers tearing apart the books and doing market analysis to make sure that these are good investments. AND as I read on another thread, he can hedge his investment by shorting the stock, thereby eliminating any risk.

When you see Warren buying stock, then it may mean something. Then again, it may just mean that he is the last of the bagholders.
