Well I would say media became more and more populated with the disillusioned inclined and most national coverage came out of place with large groups of disillusioned. What stories get covered. Doing good deeds and being a good person every day or engaging in some indulgent activity. Larger??? Smaller??? Size is a perception. I gave no actual size, only a perception. And I don't think many thought the world was on the verge of destruction. Many did grow up with secular only grounding were looking for more and pursued being cool or in.
