Hi Alistair,

I'm impressed by your cross-referencing abilities. Bravo!

Yesterday's Friedman column actually shocked me in a good way because of its vociferousness for a worthwhile cause, and for its willingness to go against the generally poor attitude of the U.S. government concerning democracies. As we know from reading history, U.S. foreign policy is almost exclusively anti-democratic.

As to whether I'd quote Friedman when he makes a good point with which I personally agree.... of course I will. Just as I'll bash him when he is a fawning toady for the manipulative and sinister schemes of the malevolent corporatists globalizers who intent to subvert the rule of law and democracy for their own craven and crass ends.

All the best, Ray
