I always balance that with "whoever sold those options expects them to expire worthless".

But, whenever you see a play like that, you have to figure that there is some research that has gone into it.

Seems a little odd to me. The open interest for that contract, DJX-VB, is only 2,363 with volume for Friday listed as 374. So how could someone be holding 50,000? Do they trade on another exchange?
