Good points. The H1-b issue is another can of worms, and some offshore development is suspect. But it's hard to complain when so many other jobs have gone oversees (manufacturing, etc.).

The software business has always been amazing in it's insistence on placing arbitrary limits on the customer's needs. Perhaps future advances in technology will make software less of a square peg, but I have been amazed at the relentlessness of the software engineers' "The user is in the way, and must be oppressed or eliminated" attitude...
