Snowshoe, that's a factor that few people mention. Jay has mentioned the poor people who earn a hamburger a week with their huge US$ deposits, but most people think low interest rates only increase spending, forgetting the other side of the ledger.

But by cutting interest rates, those people do get a big tax cut! Small consolation they'd say. Especially if inflation takes off and there they are getting 1% with inflation at 5%.

From a government point of view, it's a big tax cut. But it's made up somewhat by a lot more printing of freshly-minted dollars.

Keeping a weather eye on that Aztec stuff, just in case.
