He lives in New Zealand and went to a Florida flight training school to do some simulator training, arranged for and paid by the airline for which he was going to fly. When Hanson writes 'even' it's as though that's a surprise. In-laws of Saddam don't have a good life-expectancy. Think of his beloved sons in law, both of whom were murdered on return from Jordan after unbelievably falling for the line that all was forgiven; I could hardly believe that they were really going back to Iraq and was completely unsurprised that they were killed on arrival. Of course his stepson has escaped to civilisation - it's the best way to stay alive. Many Americans have also moved here. There's something about Godzone which appeals to them. We also now have heaps of 'refugees' trying to get in because of the absurd welfare system we operate. No wonder our economy is going down the gurgler. It's poor, but it's pleasant [more or less]. At least we can watch America's Cup racing up close. The New Zealand police or Security Intelligence Service informed the USA that said stepson was enroute to the USA. He messed up on his visa application, so they held him on a technicality while they asked him lots of stuff, then sent him back without his training [and therefore without payment to the company]. He'll get his training elsewhere. I guess travel to the USA has dropped somewhat - it's not appealing to think of the hassles and chance of ending up held on some pretext in case one is considered a prospective terrorist. Hey, don't feel too bad Lindy, the USA has heaps of good points and can't really be considered awful. And I'm not racist; heck, some of my best friends are American and I definitely believe Americans should be considered human too. So should women, Arabs, melanin-rich people and even some religious wackoes though I'm not sure about Moslems, Jews and Catholics. Heck, even some Irish are mainly human. I have not excluded Maoris, wonderful ethnically excellent Native Americans, Hispanics or homosexuals for any particular reason. Nor other minorities, such as Indians and Chinese [who comprise less than half the world's population], mentally-retarded and crippled who are all pretty much human too. Depending on the individual of course - there are exceptions. Mqurice
