Just how could the United States helped the Soviet Union more than it did? Germany physically separated the U.S. from the Soviets from the west, and Japan from the East.

If the U.S. blocked Stalin's efforts to receive reparations from Germany, they did a lousy job. If I remember correctly, much of Germany's surviving industrial capacity was shipped of to Russia after WW2.
