I do not like to inquire into the minds of criminals. I do not think that is very fruitful territory, and I think it makes trials needlessly long and complicated. IMO if you do something you are responsible- unless reasonable people could understand that you acted in self defense. I am sorry some people are insane, just as I am sorry some people are stupid, but I don't intend to cut them any slack on murder because of what might or might not be going on inside their heads.
