SF: Good to have you back..I'm wondering tho if the weakness in Brazil won't continue through the fall election, despite the seeming irrationality of it all. Markets get a little goofy once in a while!!! Once the election is over, I'd think she'd get a good bounce and head upward despite who wins!!

In light of Brazil's current problems and $30 billion loan from IMF, I have a question concerning Brazil's selling off of their assets.
What did Brazil get out of auctioning off Telebras and all the other state-owned companies? They got money which looks like it was just pissed away for operating expenses. It seems like having a policy of burning your furniture in order to keep warm. Later on you are still cold and now have nothing to sit on!
