Joan, this is a very damaging bear market. It gives you a group that makes progress while everything else is going down, and then kicks the crud out of that group once folks have jumped into it. Telecoms last week. Golds several weeks ago. Restaurants today.

However, I learned last week that the story is still the same as it was this time last year: we are at the bottom and about to move up. The train is getting ready to leave the station. I hope whoever hopped on that train last year had a first class Pullman car cabin, because that sucker has been in the station making noise for a long time. <g>

I really feel sorry for many of the new brokers who started out when I did. They put parents, relatives and friends into managed money, buying the stories they were hearing from money managers and product pushers. Now, the attitudes of those same folks is that you really didn't get along all that well with your folks and siblings, anyway. And you'll never see those neighborhood buddies again. Time to get some new acquaintances to take their place. <g>
