The Soviets were already in Eastern Europe because it was the Soviets who threw the Nazis out of Eastern Europe, at very great cost (something like 20 million Soviets died on the Eastern Front during WWII.) Not bloody likely we could do much about it except containment, keeping them from taking even more of Europe. Too bad for the poor bastards in places like Poland but tough titty for the East Germans. They shouldn't have done what they did to the Soviets. Payback is a bitch. P.S., say what you will about Roosevelt, but Churchill was no collaborator.
