To conclude this, one would really have to ignore the facts.

There are huge differences between the parties when you consider the most important issues, such as integrity, fiscal responsibility, the Supreme Court, and national security.

I really don't want to argue the issue with you any more.........its become very unproductive. You have convinced yourself that the Reps. are the party of the good, and the Dems. the party of the bad. IMO, that perception gets this country no where.

In spite of all your rhetoric, the core of both parties falls mainly on the moderate portion of the political spectrum with the Dems a few degrees left and the Reps. a few degrees right. Therefore, Congressional disagreement over issues is not that great when push comes to shove, and an issue comes to a vote. Sure there are extremists in both parties but they are the loud minority.

The result of all this moderation which is another form of catering to the masses is that we currently have a Rep. administration that is showing anything but fiscal restraint while some Dems. are calling for racial profiling. Neither party reflects a majority of my values nor my needs, and I suspect that's true for a lot of Americans, given the fall off in party registration.

You talk about facts.......when you are given facts that might change your view point, you ignore or invalidate them. You fear conceding a single point, and on those rare occasions when you do, you immediately begin to back track so far so fast that by the end of your post, your concession has been pretty much retracted. Consequently, arguing with you becomes a game of tit for tat and probably reflects the kind of discussions that go on between the Palestinians and Israelis. There is no coming to terms because neither side is adult enough to admit when they are wrong. Such a discussion is neither fruitful nor beneficial, and I am no longer willing to participate.

Have a good one!

Good example: The Clinton administration thought we should go after Al-Quida in January 2000, but the current administration felt it was better to wait:
