I stand corrected - I used wrong wording. Let's all assume (or believe) notional gets some real meaning only in a highly improbable case. Like when the great one hits CA (when talking insurance) or 200 points interest rate raise visits us all some nice sunny morning 9:00 eastern time (when talking interest swaps & Co jungle). Who cares about less highly probable cases - they have boatloads of math and stats geniuses anyhow. Like LTCM did.
