Mike, so - who isn't concerned. Just remember that all those fears are about what MIGHT happen. It has not happened yet. Have a great vacation. I wouldn't sell any CDs now - if I had any.

Mike,

When you finally make some profit from this market, you will have earned it. Hang in there and enjoy your vacation. The forest is the "bubble aftermath". The news and the bears are the trees. There is a lot of "negative" news. At least twice a quarter for each company plus weekly government statistics. At some point the news will be ignored and the stocks will start up. Some time later, the news will improve.

I follow my rules. When I first presented my plan to Sam Citron, he asked if I would add more cash if prices fell below my ranges and I had spent all that I allocated. I said no, because that scenario implies that I would be in error and I can't see rewarding error with more cash. Well I am there and I will not "bail" myself out by risking more cash.

am more frightened now than i have been at any time regarding the economy and the markets.

I have read about the past... I don't recall any major bottoms coming when there was tons of good news. Stocks are low for a reason.

Myself... ugh... wish I was not such an optimist but glad I haven't spent all my dry powder... but feel too scared to fire any more off.

Hmmmm.

Well, were you as frightened when buying AMAT at 5X Book Value or 10X Sales? That is when we should have been frightened.

Was anybody scared when they were purchasing Hype.com at $300? THAT should have been hiding under the bed, tucked in the fetal position scared. But nobody was even blinking then.

So what is scary about buying a quality leading company whose price has been beat all to hell?

Now if fears are that Shrub is out of control, thats rational. If fears are that his war drum is beating so loud that he is driving the world to war, thats rational. If fears are that the economy is going to crap due to this war drum shit, thats rational.

Other than that I find little scary about holding AMAT at $12ish. I was more scared trading it around at $30.
