Interest rates might be at 1% by the end of the year if Goldman Sachs is right. That would put them at the lowest level since the Great Depression, 70 years ago!

the U.S. stock market may actually be collectively solvent.

Just about.

Here's why: According to Wilshire 5000 Index, the market's book value is currently 2.1 Trillion dollars. Now; a trillion of that certainly consists of goodwill, intangible assets and other usual U.S. accounting fluff. And in the news, efforts are afoot to drag into view hundreds of billions in debt hidden off balance sheets. Another solid U.S. tradition. You do the math. Surprised that financials
