There's a trick to keeping the icons for pages which I read about several months ago. Those icons are called favicons. If the site uses them you can save it by going to "Google" and clicking on the favorites/add to favorites and oking. Now go back to your favs and you should see google's favicon at the bottom of your favorites. Right click it and drag it down to the quicklaunch toolbar and release it choosing move "here". Now you should have a "G" on your toolbar.
