I have to say that the debate about invading Iraq is something I don't recall experiencing in my own lifetime. 50 in August, if I have to spell it out born August 1952.

I find it simply remarkable. I remember a lot of bullshit in the past (Johnson, Nixon, Carter, Bush I) but never anything like this.

If there is a country in the world that debated invading another country like this, I also can't recall that.

In the back of my mind floats Cicero, two thousand+ years ago, arguing "Carthagio delenda est" (Carthage must be destroyed). Not firm on the parameters of that speech, not sure if it applies.
