you know for some reason, i am much less thrilled about

Just a hunch - but the VIX will no longer be the indicator du jour that signals a potential rally however big or small. Too widely used now, and all too predictable. At some point they'll let this indicator do its thing however high in the 40's & 50's and it won't mean squat.
