He [Saddam] provides financial and moral support to terrorist networks, and there is NO DOUBT about this. I don't doubt that he's financing these networks, as are many upstanding people in Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and everywhere else in the Arab/Muslim world. However, I suspect Saddam is doing more to fill his hundreds of Swiss/Luxembourg/..... bank accounts than stockpiling plutonium with all that contraband oil income. [ On the subject, is it true that Japan has world class stocks of that dangerous material ? Maybe it's better to keep our heads down in the sand on that score... ] As for any hopes of democracy in that part of the world either via nation building or otherwise, I'll believe that if I ever see it and I don't expect to, not in my lifetime.
