Hey hey hey! Ouch-city!

I was trying to ummm, have a discussion with GST about why I don't think the "panic capitulation" will happen that everyone is waiting for. My sense is that a lot of people have lost so much they see no reason selling. Its a form of capitulation but doesn't show up in the VIX (which is pretty high anyway). I was using that puff-piece article about that woman swearing off stocks and buying a hot tub to show that the "avg investor" is aware of the mkt and another reason for no panic capitulation. Nothing to do with retirees, sheesh! (oh- unless you are talking about the former retirees in SV who are, well, unretired at this point)

Victor: Good point -- I was thinking of the garden variety mutual fund investor who bought the averages and now sees the averages where they were five years ago. But you are right, not everybody got sucked in by tech.
