...That's like I could still be rich if I had got out in '00. (sob) Tell me about it. :-) But did the people who got out do so because of a plan, or did they just get lucky? How many people had a plan, but got distracted by the lure of apparently ever-rising stock prices? Sometimes you are saved by a combination of your own efforts (in the case of Britain, the fierce resistance of the RAF and the use of radar) and your opposition doing something Really Stupid. Sometimes it's just instinct and luck. Hitler got carried away by his successes and gravely underestimated his most powerful opponents, the Soviet Union and the U.S. In particular, he didn't understand Americans. Always a handicap when you go to war.
